Drinking coffee around the world

Being in Turkey and deciding to learn more about Turkish coffee adds an exciting layer to my journey.

Turkish coffee isn’t just a drink; it’s a deeply ingrained part of Turkish culture. Unlike the regular drip or espresso, it’s brewed in a small pot called a ‘cezve’ or ‘ibrik’. The unique method involves simmering finely ground coffee with water and sometimes sugar, right on the heat.

The magic here is that the coffee isn’t filtered out, leaving me with a thick, intense brew. It’s a whole different vibe from what I might be used to, served in small cups that demand slow sipping to really savor the rich flavor.
